ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 5 -- United States Patent no. 12,239,764, issued on March 4, was assigned to Hollister Inc. (Libertyville, Ill.).

"Urinary catheters with improved shape recovery and ease of use" was invented by Brent H. Sellers (Libertyville, Ill.), Paul Healy (Claremorris, Ireland), William K. Arnold (Gurnee, Ill.) and Horacio Montes De Oca Balderas (Ballina, Ireland).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Catheters including thermoplastic polyurethane polymer tubing with improved shape recovery after storage in a substantially coiled configuration are provided."
