ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 23 -- United States Patent no. 12,364,789, issued on July 22, was assigned to Hollister Inc. (Libertyville, Ill.).
"Hydrophilic coatings and methods of forming the same" was invented by John P. O'Mahony (Ardnacrusha, Ireland) and David J. Farrell (Ballina, Ireland).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A urinary catheter including a hydrophilic coatings on the outer surface of the catheter tube wherein the hydrophilic coatings comprises a hydrophilic polymer and a diacrylate compound have a number average molecular weight between about 200 and about 600."
The patent was filed on March 20, 2023, under Application No. 18/186,654.
