ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 2 -- United States Patent no. 12,264,196, issued on April 1, was assigned to Hoffmann-La Roche Inc. (Little Falls, N.J.).

"Fc-receptor binding modified asymmetric antibodies and methods of use" was invented by Joerg Thomas Regula (Munich), Wolfgang Schaefer (Mannheim, Germany) and Tilman Schlothauer (Penzberg, Germany).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention relates to antibodies and Fc-region fusion polypeptides which are asymmetrically modified with respect to their Fc-receptor, especially their FcRn, and methods of using the same."

The patent was filed on Oct. 2, 2019, under Application No. 16/590,938.
