"Strawberry plant named 'HOB-R490'" was invented by Takafumi Ohashi (Chiba, Japan), Yuhei Takeda (Hokkaido, Japan) and Marina Iwao (Kamikawa Hokkaido, Japan).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A new variety of strawberry plant named 'HOB-R490' that has high hardness of fruit body, with the fruit having a medium size and a light red core."
