ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 18 -- United States Patent no. PP37,098, issued on Nov. 18, was assigned to HOB Co. Ltd. (Higashikagura-cho, Japan).
"Strawberry plant named 'HOB-391'" was invented by Takafumi Ohashi (Chiba, Japan), Yuhei Takeda (Hokkaido, Japan) and Marina Iwao (Hokkaido, Japan).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A new variety of strawberry plant named 'HOB-391' that has high hardness of fruit body, with the fruit having achenes positioned deep below the surface and a light red core."
