ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,460,903, issued on Nov. 4, was assigned to HiViz Group Inc. (Laramie, Wyo.).
"Gunsight illumination system" was invented by Phillip D. Howe (Laramie, Wyo.), Bradley R. Smith (Timnath, Colo.), Jason D. Webb (Laramie, Wyo.) and Frederick T. Karl (West Linn, Ore.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A weapon sight comprising a light emission assembly including a blade having a viewable illuminated aiming indicium which varies in light intensity or light color automatically based on corresponding ambient light intensity or by manually selected switch sequence pattern."
The patent was filed on Jan. 13, 2025, under Application No. 19/018,251.
