ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,460,612, issued on Nov. 4, was assigned to Hitachi Astemo Ltd. (Hitachinaka, Japan).
"Fuel pump" was invented by Moritsugu Akiyama (Hitachinaka, Japan), Shigehiko Omata (Hitachinaka, Japan), Atsushi Takaoku (Hitachinaka, Japan), Satoshi Usui (Hitachinaka, Japan) and Minoru Hashida (Hitachinaka, Japan).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention provides a fuel pump capable of preventing the occurrence of cavitation near a seat member in a valve mechanism.
