ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 3 -- United States Patent no. 12,343,329, issued on July 1, was assigned to HISAMITSU PHARMACEUTICAL Co. INC. (Tosu, Japan).

"Method for suppressing production of asenapine-N-oxide" was invented by Yuka Takagi (Tsukuba, Japan) and Masaki Yukuhiro (Tsukuba, Japan).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention provides a patch comprising an adhesive layer on a backing, the adhesive layer comprising: asenapine or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof; an adhesive base; and at least one selected from the group consisting of thiosulfates, sulfites, and pyrosulfites."
