"Mahonia plant named 'HILLMAH'" was invented by Alan Postill (North Baddesley, Great Britain).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A new and distinct cultivar of Mahonia plant named 'HILLMAH' is disclosed, characterized by large, early-blooming yellow flower spikes, followed by blue-black berries. Eye-catching architectural foliage is deep red in spring and summer, turning dark green in summer and autumn. The new variety is a Mahonia, typically produced as an outdoor ornamental plant."
The patent was filed on Nov. 6, 2024, under Application No. 18/938,443.
