According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "In some examples, a method includes detecting a trigger to modify static refresh rate metadata stored on a display device. In some examples, the method includes modifying, at the display device, the static refresh rate metadata to produce modified refresh rate metadata. In some examples, the method includes sending the modified refresh rate metadata to a source device."
