US Patent Issued to HEWLETT-PACKARD DEVELOPMENT on Oct. 7 for "Color map wrappers and packets" (Washington, Idaho Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 8 -- United States Patent no. 12,437,173, issued on Oct. 7, was assigned to HEWLETT-PACKARD DEVELOPMENT COMPANY LP (Spring, Texas).

"Color map wrappers and packets" was invented by Stephen J. Nichols (Vancouver, Wash.) and George Henry Kerby (Boise, Idaho).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A memory structure stores a plurality of color maps, the entity, when decompressed by a printer controller, comprising a plurality of first level wrappers, each first level wrapper including at least one characteristic to identify a corresponding color map, and a recipe to define and locate packets for constructing the color map, the recipe having at least one locator for each second level...
