ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 20 -- United States Patent no. 12,390,486, issued on Aug. 19, was assigned to Henry Ford Health System (Detroit).
"Method for treating diastolic heart failure by inhibiting galectin-3" was invented by Hani N. Sabbah (Waterford, Mich.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A method for treating diastolic heart failure (heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF)) in a subject in need thereof is provided including administering a therapeutically effective amount of a galectin-3 inhibitor to the subject."
The patent was filed on July 6, 2021, under Application No. 17/367,957.
