ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,384,987, issued on Aug. 12, was assigned to Henkel AG & Co. KGaA (Duesseldorf, Germany).
"Process for producing metal organic frameworks" was invented by Christian Kropf (Hilden, Germany), Marc Weyhe (Krefeld, Germany), Stefan Kaskel (Dresden, Germany), Steffen Hausdorf (Ringenhain, Germany) and Philipp Mueller (Luebeck, Germany).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The metal organic framework (MOF) MIL-100 (Al) can be produced in a process in which aluminum nitrate and trimesic acid are brought to react with one another in an alcohol/water mixture under the action of NH3 and/or an NH3-releasing compound under mild conditions."
