ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,297,409, issued on May 13, was assigned to Heineken Supply Chain B.V. (Amsterdam).

"Foam stability" was invented by Augustinus Cornelius Aldegonde Petrus Albert Bekkers (Bunnik, Netherlands) and Eric Richard Brouwer (Alphen aan den Rijn, Netherlands).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention is directed to a beer having reduced quantities of AcHFA. It has been found that beer with reduced AcHFA quantities has improved foam stability. The invention provides beer with reduced AcHFA quantities, as well as methods for removing AcHFA from beer during or after fermentation, or for removing a precursor for AcHFA from wort."
