ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,550,972, issued on Feb. 17, was assigned to HBN SHOE LLC (Salem, N.H.).
"Footwear component" was invented by Brian G. R. Hughes (San Antonio) and Howard Dananberg (Stowe, Vt.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An outsole for footwear includes a substrate having an upper surface. A raised grid pattern is formed on the forefoot and rear sections of the substrate upper surface, and a reverse grid pattern is formed on a midsection of the substrate upper surface."
The patent was filed on Feb. 20, 2025, under Application No. 19/058,906.
