ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,316,220, issued on May 27, was assigned to Hamilton Sundstrand Corp. (Charlotte, N.C.).

"Bi-directional converter protection systems" was invented by Suman Dwari (East Hartford, Conn.), W. Warren Chen (Glastonbury, Conn.) and Lei Xing (South Windsor, Conn.).
