ALEXANDRIA, Va., Dec. 2 -- United States Patent no. 12,486,822, issued on Dec. 2, was assigned to Hamilton Sundstrand Corp. (Charlotte, N.C.).
"Engine ignition systems and control methods therefor" was invented by Gary McBrien (S. Glastonbury, Conn.) and Thomas M. Donahue (Vernon, Conn.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "In accordance with at least one aspect of this disclosure, a method can include controlling firing of an exciter of an engine with an electronic controller separate from the exciter as a function of at least one excitation command from the electronic controller and at least one feedback signal from the exciter operatively connected to the electronic controller."
