ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,381,032, issued on Aug. 5, was assigned to HAMILTON SUNDSTRAND Corp. (Charlotte, N.C.).

"Zero-sequence blocking transformer" was invented by Ponggorn Kulsangcharoen (Solihull, Great Britain) and Rodrigo Fernandez-Mattos (Solihull, Great Britain).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A zero-sequence blocking transformer includes a first core part, a first pair of windings wound around the first core part, a second core part and a second pair of windings wound around the second core part, the first core and the second core having a geometry to generate a leakage inductance."

The patent was filed on Sept. 14, 2022, under Application No. 17/944,327....
