US Patent Issued to Halliburton Energy Services on Sept. 23 for "Pressure pulse generation" (British, American Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 23 -- United States Patent no. 12,422,105, issued on Sept. 23, was assigned to Halliburton Energy Services Inc. (Houston).

"Pressure pulse generation" was invented by David Bennett (Houston), Graham Jack (Aberdeen, Great Britain), Iain J. Shepherd (Aberdeen, Great Britain) and Terry Don Bickley (Houston).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Systems and methods for creating a pressure pulse within a pipeline are disclosed. The method includes isolating a barrel of a pipeline inspection gauge (PIG) station from the pipeline, pressurizing the barrel up to a selected pressure, and opening an isolation valve between the barrel and the pipeline, thereby creating the pressure pulse."...
