ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 8 -- United States Patent no. 12,435,592, issued on Oct. 7, was assigned to Halliburton Energy Services Inc. (Houston).
"Self-cleaning impulse turbine and bearing in fluid contaminated with solids" was invented by Ryan W. McChesney (Carrollton, Texas) and Gordon McLeary (Carrollton, Texas).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An apparatus configured to be positioned in a wellbore formed in a subsurface formation. The apparatus comprises one or more components configured to induce a vibration within a turbine to mitigate debris buildup on a rotor of the turbine, wherein the rotor is configured to rotate about a central axis when a flow of fluid interacts with the turbine."
