ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 5 -- United States Patent no. 12,278,447, issued on April 15, was assigned to Halliburton Energy Services Inc. (Houston).
"Seal for electrical and pressure isolation" was invented by Chad W. Glaesman (Singapore) and Sandeep Thatathil (Singapore).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A seal for use within a hydrocarbon environment including a core and a shell that is coupled to the core. The core includes an elastomeric core material with a first modulus. The shell includes a shell material with a second modulus that is lesser than the first modulus. The core and the shell can be positioned to generate a pressure and electrical seal at a sealing interface."
