ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 25 -- United States Patent no. 12,480,697, issued on Nov. 25, was assigned to Haier US Appliance Solutions Inc. (Wilmington, Del.).

"Ice maker appliance control methods" was invented by Choon Jae Ryu (Prospect, Ky.) and Stephanos Kyriacou (Louisville, Ky.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An ice maker appliance includes an ice box. The ice maker appliance further includes a mold body and a frost collector positioned in the ice box. The ice maker appliance also includes a working fluid loop. The working fluid loop is in conductive thermal communication with the mold body and with the frost collector."
