ALEXANDRIA, Va., Dec. 31 -- United States Patent no. 12,510,284, issued on Dec. 30, was assigned to Haier US Appliance Solutions Inc. (Wilmington, Del.).

"Anti-microbial stand-alone ice making appliance" was invented by Rachel Winckler (Louisville, Ky.), Samuel Vincent DuPlessis (Louisville, Ky.), Eric Muzzillo (Louisville, Ky.), Lauren Platts (Louisville, Ky.) and Annie Han (Louisville, Ky.).
