ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 25 -- United States Patent no. 12,338,698, issued on June 24, was assigned to Greenwell Engineering LLC (Weatherford, Texas).

"Methods and systems associated with wireline pressure control" was invented by Gary Shearer (Flint, Texas) and Chris Reed (Canton, Texas).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A lubricator vent sub is placed at a lowest point in a greasehead with maximum volume to relieve trapped air, wherein the lubricator vent sub creates a secondary flow path for the trapped air."

The patent was filed on June 7, 2024, under Application No. 18/736,810.
