ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 18 -- United States Patent no. 12,475,670, issued on Nov. 18, was assigned to GoPro Inc. (San Mateo, Calif.).
"Systems and methods for generating night sky images" was invented by Guillaume Oules (Bordeaux, France).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An image capture device may capture images of the night sky while fixed in place. Changes in positions of stars depicted within the images may be used to determine the center of rotation for the images. The images may be rotated about the center of rotation and combined to generate a night sky image with a higher signal-to-noise ratio."
The patent was filed on Aug. 28, 2023, under Application No. 18/457,207.
