ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,334,050, issued on June 17, was assigned to Google Technology Holdings LLC (Mountain View, Calif.).
"Recognizing accented speech" was invented by Kristin A. Gray (San Mateo, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Techniques and apparatuses for recognizing accented speech are described. In some embodiments, an accent module recognizes accented speech using an accent library based on device data, uses different speech recognition correction levels based on an application field into which recognized words are set to be provided, or updates an accent library based on corrections made to incorrectly recognized speech."
