US Patent Issued to Google on Oct. 7 for "Alignment of waveguide and display in smartglasses" (Canadian, American Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 8 -- United States Patent no. 12,437,687, issued on Oct. 7, was assigned to Google LLC (Mountain View, Calif.).

"Alignment of waveguide and display in smartglasses" was invented by Daniel Adema (Kitchener, Canada), Shreyas Potnis (Kitchener, Canada) and Eliezer Glik (San Diego).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Improved techniques of detecting angular misalignment between a display and a waveguide of a smartglasses device includes providing a detection mechanism for the display such that the location of a misalignment can indicate how to compensate for the misalignment."

The patent was filed on Sept. 6, 2023, under Application No. 18/462,262.
