ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,332,283, issued on June 17, was assigned to Google LLC (Mountain View, Calif.).

"Voltage-variation detection under clock fluctuations" was invented by Emre Tuncer (Santa Cruz, Calif.), Huachang Xu (Mountain View, Calif.), Ramprasad Raghavan (Sunnyvale, Calif.), Fanny Gur (Los Gatos, Calif.) and Manish Harnur (Sunnyvale, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Detecting voltage-based attacks on an integrated circuit (IC) is difficult in the presence of clock jitter. Propagating signals can exhibit a total delay that is due to a delay component resulting from a voltage-based attack and a delay characteristic resulting from clock fluctuation....
