ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 23 -- United States Patent no. 12,422,004, issued on Sept. 23, was assigned to Goerend Transmissions Inc. (Saint Lucas, Iowa).
"Transmission channel plate" was invented by David J. Goerend (Saint Lucas, Iowa).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A channel plate for automatic transmission includes a substantially thickened area to prevent warpage of the plate during transmission operation. The plate includes ports for checking the oil pressure of the transmission clutch packs. Recesses are formed in the plate around the ports so that that plate sits flush within the test pan for pressure testing."
The patent was filed on Sept. 13, 2024, under Application No. 18/884,516.
