ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 20 -- United States Patent no. 12,391,148, issued on Aug. 19, was assigned to GM GLOBAL TECHNOLOGY OPERATIONS LLC (Detroit).

"Battery heating system" was invented by Chandra S. Namuduri (Troy, Mich.) and Neeraj S. Shidore (Novi, Mich.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "AC current heating of a battery is performed using a half-bridge based quasi-resonant circuit."

The patent was filed on Aug. 3, 2021, under Application No. 17/392,487.
