US Patent Issued to Globus Medical on Sept. 9 for "Surgical image system and method" (Michigan, Wisconsin Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 10 -- United States Patent no. 12,408,984, issued on Sept. 9, was assigned to Globus Medical Inc. (Audubon, Pa.).

"Surgical image system and method" was invented by Peter L. Bono (Bingham Farms, Mich.), James D. Lark (West Bloomfield, Mich.), John S. Scales (Ann Arbor, Mich.) and Thomas J. Lord (South Milwaukee, Wis.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A surgical system and method are provided that is configured to effect substituting a high resolution image created pre-surgery for a lower resolution image created in real time during surgery and simulating the real time position of the surgical site."
