ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,306,442, issued on May 20, was assigned to GlobalFoundries U.S. Inc. (Malta, N.Y.).

"Structure including grating coupler with optofluidic grating channels" was invented by Yusheng Bian (Ballston Lake, N.Y.), Vibhor Jain (Clifton Park, N.Y.) and Steven M. Shank (Jericho, Vt.).
