ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,332,483, issued on June 17, was assigned to GlobalFoundries U.S. Inc. (Malta, N.Y.).

"Photonics structures with stacked ring resonators" was invented by Yusheng Bian (Ballston Lake, N.Y.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Structures including a ring resonator and methods of fabricating a structure including a ring resonator. The structure comprises an optical component, a first ring resonator positioned adjacent to the optical component, and a second ring resonator spaced in a vertical direction from the first ring resonator.
