ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 18 -- United States Patent no. 12,473,277, issued on Nov. 18, was assigned to GLOBAL BLOOD THERAPEUTICS INC. (South San Francisco, Calif.).

"Solid forms of a modulator of hemoglobin" was invented by Stephan D. Parent (West Lafayette, Ind.), Travis Lee Houston (Lafayette, Ind.), Courtney S. Johnson (West Lafayette, Ind.) and Fang Wang (Foster City, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Forms of (S)-2-hydroxy-6-((4-(2-(2-hydroxyethyl)nicotinoyl)morpholin-3-yl)methoxy)benzaldehyde (Compound I), or salts or solvates thereof, were prepared and characterized in the solid state. Also provided are processes of manufacture and methods of using the forms of Compound I."
