ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 10 -- United States Patent no. 12,292,424, issued on May 6, was assigned to Genzyme Corp. (Cambridge, Mass.).

"Two-dimensional LC-MS/MS systems" was invented by Wei-Lien Chuang (Bridgewater, N.J.), Felipe Gazos Lopes (Bridgewater, N.J.), Joshua Pacheco (Bridgewater, N.J.) and Gerard Sanderink (Bridgewater, N.J.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention relates to a novel analytical method for detecting one or more analytes in a source sample by continuous flow 2D LC-MS/MS using a single LC system."

The patent was filed on May 29, 2020, under Application No. 17/615,291.
