US Patent Issued to Genzyme on March 18 for "Compositions and methods for treating Pompe disease" (American, Chinese Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,251,430, issued on March 18, was assigned to Genzyme Corp. (Cambridge, Mass.).

"Compositions and methods for treating Pompe disease" was invented by Kristina An Haack (Shanghai), Patrick Finn (Franklin, Mass.) and Catherine Wilson (Durham, N.C.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present application provides methods of treating Pompe disease such as infantile-onset Pompe disease (IOPD) using a pharmaceutical composition comprising an oligosaccharide-acid Alpha-glucosidase (GAA) conjugate, such as avalglucosidase alfa. Also provided are formulations of the oligosaccharide-GAA conjugates."
