ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,378,517, issued on Aug. 5, was assigned to Genzyme Corp. (Cambridge, Mass.).

"Perfusion culturing methods and uses thereof" was invented by Agata Villiger-Oberbek (Cambridge, Mass.), Jianguo Yang (Sudbury, Mass.), Yang Yang (Hopkinton, Mass.) and Gabrielle Lorenzo (West Seneca, N.Y.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Provided herein are methods of culturing a mammalian cell and various methods that utilize these culturing methods. Also provided are multi-well cell culture plates, e.g., for use in perfusion culturing methods."
