According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A new and distinct cultivar of Rose plant named 'ESM R896', characterized by its upright and relatively strong flowering stems; relatively moderately vigorous growth habit; dark green-colored leaves; orange-colored flower petals and petaloids that become darker orange with development giving the flower a bi-colored appearance; petals and petaloids are relatively resistant to bruising; and excellent postproduction longevity."
