ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 10 -- United States Patent no. 12,410,720, issued on Sept. 9, was assigned to General Electric Co. (Evendale, Ohio).
"Turbine engine having a rotatable disk and a blade" was invented by Lane Stewart Darby (Woodlawn, Ohio), Joseph Charles Albers (Walton, Ky.) and Gregory Michael Petrasko (Hamilton, Ohio).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A turbine engine has a rotatable disk, a seal cartridge, and a blade. The rotatable disk has a peripheral surface, with at least one slot located in the peripheral surface. The seal cartridge defines a blade seat. The blade has a root, a leading edge and a trailing edge, the root being received within the blade seat."
