ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,385,437, issued on Aug. 12, was assigned to General Electric Co. (Schenectady, N.Y.).

"Combined cycle power plants with exhaust gas recirculation intercooling" was invented by Raub Warfield Smith (Ballston Lake, N.Y.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A method of operating a combined cycle power plant to facilitate increasing an output of the power plant. The method includes discharging a first exhaust gas stream from a gas turbine engine and extracting heat from the first exhaust gas stream via a heat recovery steam generator.
