ALEXANDRIA, Va., Dec. 31 -- United States Patent no. 12,510,174, issued on Dec. 30, was assigned to Geberit International SG (Jona, Switzerland).

"Auto-draining diverter valve" was invented by James Kildew (Des Plaines, Ill.), Andrew Helgeland (Des Plaines, Ill.), Douglas Fischer (Des Plaines, Ill.) and David Vagasky (Des Plaines, Ill.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present disclosure provides for fluid valves with automatic draining diverters."
