ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 30 -- United States Patent no. 12,431,318, issued on Sept. 30, was assigned to GE PRECISION HEALTHCARE LLC (Waukesha, Wis.).
"X-ray cathode shield" was invented by Kevin S Kruse (Muskego, Wis.) and Sergio Lemaitre (Whitefish Bay, Wis.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Various systems are provided for a cathode of an X-ray imaging system. In one example, a shield for a cathode comprises a cathode mask comprising a u-shaped central opening configured to receive a cathode cup, where a perimeter of the u-shaped central opening comprises a rolled over edge."
The patent was filed on April 6, 2023, under Application No. 18/296,949.
