ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,305,071, issued on May 20, was assigned to FUJIFILM Corp. (Tokyo).

"Hardcoat film and article and image display device having hardcoat film" was invented by Yuta Fukushima (Kanagawa, Japan), Akio Tamura (Kanagawa, Japan) and Tetsu Kitamura (Kanagawa, Japan).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A hardcoat film has a substrate, a hardcoat layer, and an anti-scratch layer in this order. The anti-scratch layer contains a cured product of polyorganosilsesquioxane (c1) having a group containing a radically polymerizable double bond."

The patent was filed on Dec. 29, 2020, under Application No. 17/136,557.
