ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 21 -- United States Patent no. 12,442,307, issued on Oct. 14, was assigned to FUJI ELECTRIC Co. LTD. (Kawasaki, Japan).
"Steam turbine member" was invented by Yuya Nakashima (Hachioji, Japan), Masato Hirota (Yokohama, Japan) and Naoya Yoshimi (Tokyo).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A steam turbine member has suppressed adhesion of scale for a long time without deterioration of corrosion resistance and the like of a turbine. A steam turbine member includes a hard layer 2 and a deposited amorphous carbon film 3 on a base material 1, in that order."
