ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,316,847, issued on May 27, was assigned to FRAUNHOFER-GESELLSCHAFT ZUR FORDERUNG DER ANGEWANDTEN FORSCHUNG E.V. (Munich).

"Efficient coding of transform coefficients using or suitable for a combination with dependent scalar quantization" was invented by Heiko Schwarz (Berlin), Thomas Wiegand (Berlin), Phan Hoang Tung Nguyen (Berlin) and Detlev Marpe (Berlin).
