ALEXANDRIA, Va., Jan. 20 -- United States Patent no. 12,532,032, issued on Jan. 20, was assigned to Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft zur Foerderung der angewandten Forschung e.V. (Munich).
"Coding concept for a sequence of information values" was invented by Heiko Schwarz (Berlin), Anastasia Henkel (Berlin), Detlev Marpe (Berlin) and Thomas Wiegand (Berlin).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A more effective coding/decoding of a sequence of information values and, for instance, one which enables implementations of increased processing speed, is achieved by rendering the binarization of the information values dependent on previously coded/decoded information values."
