ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 26 -- United States Patent no. 12,261,866, issued on March 25, was assigned to Fortinet Inc. (Sunnyvale, Calif.).
"Time series anomaly detection" was invented by Ting-Fang Yen (Palo Alto, Calif.), Isha Singhal (Milpitas, Calif.), Andrew D. Twigg (Belmont, Calif.) and Yijou Chen (Cupertino, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Time series anomaly detection, including: gathering data associated with a particular event type and a particular user; generating, based on the data, a time series analysis; detecting an anomaly based on the time series analysis; and generating information describing the anomaly."
