ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 3 -- United States Patent no. 12,402,673, issued on Sept. 2, was assigned to Ford Global Technologies LLC (Dearborn, Mich.).

"Mask" was invented by William Charles Brick (Berkley, Mich.) and Jason Powell (Ypsilanti, Mich.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A mask may be configured as a respirator. A mask may be relatively easy to manufacture. A mask may be reusable and customizable. A mask may include a strap attachment configured such that a strap is attachable to the strap attachment without tying the strap into a knot."

The patent was filed on Sept. 13, 2022, under Application No. 17/943,277.
