US Patent Issued to Ford Global Technologies on Oct. 21 for "Cleaning and cooling of vehicle sensor assembly" (Michigan Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 28 -- United States Patent no. 12,449,513, issued on Oct. 21, was assigned to Ford Global Technologies LLC (Dearborn, Mich.).

"Cleaning and cooling of vehicle sensor assembly" was invented by Michael Robertson Jr. (Garden City, Mich.), Venkatesh Krishnan (Canton, Mich.) and Rashaun Phinisee (Ypsilanti, Mich.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An assembly includes a sensor housing defining an inlet. The assembly includes a sensor assembly rotatably supported by the sensor housing. The sensor assembly includes a sensor and a cover surrounding the sensor. The sensor assembly has a cavity between the sensor and the cover. The inlet is in fluid communication with the cavity."
