ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 21 -- United States Patent no. 12,441,404, issued on Oct. 14, was assigned to Ford Global Technologies LLC (Dearborn, Mich.).

"Structural assembly having angled deflector" was invented by Pradeep Borate (Novi, Mich.), Bhimaraddi Venkaraddi Alavandi (Canton, Mich.), Lalitha Gade (Canton, Mich.), Venkateswaran Ramanarayanan (Canton, Mich.) and Harshavardhan Virinchipuram Kylas (Lincoln Park, Mich.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A structural assembly for a vehicle includes a left frame, a right frame, a cross beam, a bumper structure, and a pair of deflectors. The left frame rail and the right frame rail are spaced apart from each other and extend in a longitudinal directio...
